Are you a walker, biker or runner ? We need your participation and ideas.
Queenstown is currently developing a Trails Master Plan. Contact the Town Office if you have a desire to serve on the sub-committee of the Planning Commission that will work on developing the Master Plan.
If you would like to stay informed of Trail Plan progress, call the Town Office to be added to the Trail Plan email list. This page will also be updated with any trail plan news.
Since March 2019, the Town Planning Commission has been working diligently on the development of a Trails Master Plan.
As of the Planning Commissions’ October 2 meeting, the first three (3) of six (6) sections have been drafted. The Planning Commission anticipates completion of the remaining three sections by their January 2020 meeting.
Once the draft Trails Master Plan is complete, the Planning Commission will seek input from the Town Commissioners and subsequently send the document to the Queen Anne’s County Planning Department for review and comments. Upon the County’s review, it will likely be shared with the State Highway Administration (SHA) for additional comments since many of the more costly improvements, such as recommended pedestrian overpasses over Routes 301 and 50, could potentially be funded through SHA programs.
What’s Coming Up?:
November – December: Existing Trails Inventory– The Planning Commission is seeking Trail Plan listserv members to assist with the task of inventorying trails throughout Queenstown. If interested, please contact Amy Moore firstname.lastname@example.org.
January – March: Finalize draft Trails Master Plan and seek Town & County input.
April: Finalize Trails Master Plan and send to Town Commissioners for Acceptance & Adoption.
