It is with a heavy heart that we share the news that lifelong town resident, past Town Commissioner, and former Queenstown Public Works Director, Edwin Lane Cole, has passed away.
Lane loved Queenstown. Everything he did for our town was because he loved where he lived. He dedicated many hours to the town, long after his retirement. The Commissioners and staff were like a second family to Lane. He stayed involved and was always ready to assist with any problem or project that came along.
Besides his family, one of Lane’s greatest accomplishments was being involved in the building of the Town’s wastewater facility. Lane always took pride in any project or task he undertook, but the new wastewater plant was his pride and joy. Because of his time and dedication, and his many years of service with the Town, the Commissioners dedicated the public works facility in his name during a ceremony in November 2019.
We will miss Lane…his smile, his laugh, and his heart. They don’t make them like him anymore.
