No building, structure, or land shall be used or occupied, and no building or structure or part thereof shall be erected, constructed, reconstructed, moved, demolished, or structurally altered without a permit issued by the Zoning Administrator. Examples where a permit is required include, but are not limited to: new construction, remodeling, sheds, decks, fences, new/replacement roofs (if plywood is going to be replaced), driveways, sidewalks, additions, etc. Residential permit applications should be submitted with a site plan, as well as building plans or building detail sheet (if applicable). Site plan should include all measurements and calculations on existing and proposed buildings, driveways, walks, etc. Commercial renovations and construction also require a building permit. The application must be submitted with two (2) sets of architecturally sealed plans. The Town uses one universal Permit Application for all applicants. The application is available online and only parts relative to your project need to be filled out. Fees vary depending upon work proposed, and are collected at the time of permit approval and pick up. You may contact the Town Office for fee quotes. Tree removal also requires a zoning permit application to be filed with the Town. Trees removed within the 300 ft. Critical Area boundary must be replaced at a 3:1 ratio. All other trees must be replaced at a 1:1 ratio. There is currently no fee for this application as it is used as a tool to track replanting requirements.
The Town of Queenstown requires filing of permits for all plumbing, electrical and mechanical work to be performed within the Town limits. However, these applications are not available online. You may contact the Town Office to have a form mailed to you, or you may stop by in person to pick one up.
